Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 June 2026
TheWorldSays is built around a simple promise: understand what the world thinks without tracking who you are. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. What we collect
Waitlist: if you join the waitlist, we store the email address you provide.
Contact form: if you message us, we store your email address and the content of your message so we can reply.
Voting (after launch): when you answer a question we store only your country β derived from your network connection β and a one-way salted hash of your IP address, used solely to prevent duplicate votes. We never store your raw IP address or any data that identifies you personally.
On your device: we use local storage to remember your theme (light/dark) and language preference. This stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
We do not use advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-site tracking.
2. How we use your data
To send you a single notification when we launch (waitlist), to respond to your enquiries (contact), and β after launch β to produce anonymous, aggregated results showing how opinion differs across countries and over time.
We never sell your data, and we never use it to build a profile of you.
3. Who processes your data
We rely on a small number of trusted providers acting on our behalf: Supabase (database hosting, EU region β Frankfurt), Cloudflare (website hosting and delivery), Resend (sending transactional email), and Zoho Mail (our contact inbox).
These providers process data only to deliver their service to us, under their own security and data-protection commitments.
4. Cookies and local storage
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. The only data stored on your device is functional: your theme and language preference, and a flag remembering that you have seen our storage notice.
Because this storage is strictly necessary for the site to remember your preferences, it does not require consent β but we tell you about it anyway.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you can withdraw from the waitlist at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@theworldsays.com and we will respond promptly.
6. Data retention
We keep waitlist emails until launch and a reasonable period afterwards, then remove them. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. Aggregated voting results contain no personal data and may be kept indefinitely.
7. Children
TheWorldSays is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new βlast updatedβ date.
9. Contact
